Join us for a panel that will explore how the Turkish government uses media to construct narratives that frame its policies both as forms of geopolitical and epistemic empowerment for certain segments of society and as important sources of legitimacy and competence in the eyes of national and international audiences. The panelists will critically and empirically examine how salient media narratives both reflect and reinforce the regime’s ideological agenda, while exploring the implications for broader struggles over power, identity, and citizens’ sense making of current crises in Turkey and around the globe.
