How did the Armenian diaspora form through the spread of the printed word?
Aslanian presents a comprehensive history of the Armenian print tradition in the early modern period, tracing its reach across Europe & Asia. He demonstrates how printed works not only shaped a collective Armenian identity but also played a pivotal role in the rise of Armenian nationalism. Central to this, Aslanian argues, were growing divisions between the Armenian & Roman churches and the role of confessionalism as key forces driving the evolution of Armenian book history and the diaspora itself.
